The first sale of the above firm in Feilding, under the arrangement by which the auction business of Messrs Halcombe and Sherwill has been transferred, will be held on Saturday next, the sth instant, when Mr H. L. Sherwill will, for the first time, weild the hammer on their behalf. On that day a sale will be held, in the new premises erected by Mr Beading in Manchester street, under instructions frcsn Mr E. J. Oottrell, of a quantity of new drapery, cloihing, &c. On Monday, the 7th instant, at Kapa Kapa, on the Awahuri road, there will be sold on behalf of Mr Jackman, who is leaving for Kimberley, farm stock, Tiorses, ploughs, harrows, sheep, a twine binder, oats, and seed wheat. There will also be offered the good will of the lease of 98. acres of the best land in the district. On Thuraday, the 10th instant, there will be I held at the sale yards of the firm in j Warwick street, one of the largest and most important stock sales held in Feilding for some time. The advertisements f «r the above appear in our third page to-day, and we refer our readers to them with confidence. We wish Mr Sherwill every success in his new position, and feel assured that from his well-known talent as an auctioneer, his knowledge of the value of stock, and all landed proporty, com- j bined with his neverfailing energy, Mr Sherwill will continue to maintain the high ostpem ho has won as a Knight of tho Hammer, as well as a j privato individual.
