(BEUTEB'S TELBOB-MS.) Received May 28, 11.30 p.m. London, May 28. ♦ The cricket match, Australians v Eleven representing the Oxford University, commenced at Oxford yesterday. There was a good attendance of the publio though the weather was showery. The wicket was heavy owing ?to the recent rain. The following were the; playes of the University team — Momm--Brain, Buckland, Cobb, Cochrane, Key, Hildyard, Page, Rasleieh, Thompson, Glenuie, and Whitty. The Australians went first to the wickets. The highest scores , made were Jones, caught, 28,. Blnckham r >nn'Out,.ls The others collapsed ahd the'' innings closed for 70. The pfjiicipal bdwler?, for Oxford were Buckland/ four Wieketsfdr two Vims, CocWne two fotorrfusA'^S^^ord team in the first innings were all disposedoffor forty-five. : The principal scores were Page leg before the wicket 10, Hildyard, caught, 12, Thompson not out, 11; | the bowling ot the visitors' being on the wicket. Spofforth took nine *L:kets.for two runs. Ibe Australians commenced , their second innings and at the close of j tbe days play had put together 8 runs for the loss of two wickets.
