Shocking Death of a Woman
Echuca, May 10. On Sunday evening an elderly woman named Catherine Hogan met with her death in a shocking manner. For sone time past slit ha* been living with Mrs Price in a small house in Howell street, Echuca Kast. and was rather addicted to intemperate habits. Mrs Prije went to church, leaving the deceased in the dwelling. On her return, on opening the door she found the floor on fire and then looked about after Mrs Hogan, and, on opening the back djor, was horrified to find her lying there with her clothes burning. She at once threw some water over her, and called out for assistance. Some neighbors came immediately, when it was found necessary to take the unfortunate creature to the hospital. . Dr O*borne examined her and found her so terrible burned from the armpits to the toes that there was no hope of saving her life.
