TheN.Z.L. &M.A. Company report ( ,under date April 22nd : — ; There haye been some sttght fluctuations in the prices realised for New Zealand frozen mutton in the Home markets. The latest cablegrams advise •s£d to s£d per lb as ruling quotations which though showing a small decline on February-March top rates, are still satisfactory prices. Christchbrch. — The s.s. lonio left Lyttelton for London on the 3rd inst., with 1,994 carcases mutton, and 2,937 carcases lamb from tibia district. The It.M.S. Bimutaka is now receiving a shipment from the Belfast Freezing Works of upwards of 9,000 carcases mutton and lamb. The next ship on the berth is the s.s. Coptic, for which a cargo of some 9,000 to 10,000 carcases is now being prepared at Belfast. limaihj.— The Lady Jocelyn, at Port Chalmers, has taken on board 8,968 carcases; frozen at our local works. The-Mataura has just completed her loading at this port, having 5,874 carcases on board. A cargo is now being prepared for the ship Lyttelton, to load here next month, after which the works will be busy getting ready a cargo for a steamer in June-July, so that our local company is justifying its existence by steady and valuable work. Weujngtox.—^Since last report the following shipments have been made from this port : — Per lonic, 5,484 carcases mutton ; 25 lamb ; 162 pieces beef; 70 quarters. Per Aorangi, 5,497 carcases mutton ; 19 lamb ; 1 , 1 75 legs mutton ; 39 quarters, and 171 pieces beef . NAPiEB.-r-Puring last month the following shipments hare been made. Per Opawa— lo,23o carcases, 1,351 haunches, and 352 legs mutton. Per lonic— lo,s7l carcases, 511 haunches and 88 legs mutton, and 8 bags kidneys.
