W. Rapley's Bankruptcy

In his examination before the D.O. A. on Saturday, Wm Rapley, bankrupt, said he had filed in consequence of a warrant being issued for his arrest for non-payment of a judgment obtained . against him by Prior and Sandiiands. He was in business in Feilding for 2 years, from 1882. He bought Jordan's business for £99 16s, paying £50 cash, and giving bills for the ballaii.ee. Had been deceived both in the value of the stock and the business. Made out a claim against Jordan for £40 stock short delivered, but the latter filed his petition, and he got nothing. After carrying on business for two years he left, owing £60 over and above the book debts he had. Afterwards lived at Wanganui, Waiiptara, and Patea, working at the latter place for £2 10s a week. Was them 5 months, but was not in full work all the time. Then went to Waitotara again and looked after his toother's hotel for seme time. After f}m license was transferred he came to Wanganui, and got work at Mr Clark's. While at Patea he incurred debts while paying his pressing creditors at FeiMing. He had not kept any books, and could not make any man to his creditors.
