Smelting operations at the Champion Copper Mine are new proceeding, and are a great success. The fire was lit in the smelting furnace at 11 •'deck yesterday morning, and before 3 in the afternoon about a t*n of metal had flowed from the furnace. Everything is working satisfactorily.
