Bbisbane, April 9. Excellent accounts are to hand from Kim berley gold fields, Western Australia. The miners predict a big rush. Intending prospectors, however, are urged to take six months provisions, as supplies are scarce and the field very extensive.

Sydney, April 7. Nearly the whole of yesterday's sitting of the Assembly was occupied in a debate on the payment of members. The principle was affirmed by 42 to 19. Many stated that while they agreed with the proposal, they were against it applying to the members of the present Parliament. Sir Henry Parkes opposed _ the motion. The Government were divided upon it. The members of the German New Guinea Company's scientific expedition leare Cooktown for Finschopp to-morrow. They refuse to allow any foreigners to accompany the party. The arrival of the steamer Qnetta with a large number of cases of diarrhoea and colic on board, caused some uneasiness. Pratique has been granted. April 8. The debate on Sir Henry Parkes' mo* tion, with regard to the New Hebrides, commenced in the Legislative Assembly to-day.
