The trial of Captain Sorenson, master of the schooner Douro, for .malpractice connected « ith the island labor trade, was concluded to-day. Accused was sentenced to ten years penal servitude. Sydney, This Day. Sir Henry Parkes has re-introduced his motion on the New Hebrides question. The resolution will be discussed to-night. Brisbane, April 6. Mr Holt, the late manager of the Sydney branch of the Bank of New Zealand, was b ought before the Police Magistrate to-day and formally remanded to Sydney.
