George Thomas & Co report produce prices as (follows : — As indicated last week, the arrival at Sydney of the Te Anau and Wakatipu with over 2000 kegs of New Zealand butter, has caused prices and demand to seriously reduce, and advices received state that there is no prospect of more satisfactory tidings for some time to come. Although very unwilling to do so, we are bound to accept this information as being a true report of the condition and probable state of the market for at least the next two to three weeks. Local prices for prime samples are salt, 8d to 9d; fresh, lOdto lid. The market is very fully stocked with grain and breadstuffs at unaltered prices. We quote — Oats, 2s 4d to 2s 6d ; oatmeal, £12 10s ; Adelaide flour, £11 10s ; colonial, £8 15s to £9 ; good whole last year's fowls' wheat, 3s sd ; wheatmeal, £9 10s; maize, limited demand at 4s, and the same remarks apply to feed barley at 2s 9d ; beans, 4s ; field peas, 3s 9d, and garden peas 6s per bushel ; pollard and bran still remain in special request at £6 all around ; Spanish onions, £6 10s to £7 ; Derwent potatoes are not yet at a fixed rate, and we quote present value £4, but consider that throughout the season the general quotations will rule from £3 10s to £3 15s rye grass (clean samples), 5s 3d to 5s 6d per bushel ; cocks-foots, 4£d per lb; hams and bacon, cheese and honey remain at last rates'; eggs are still scarce at Is 9d, and much wanted. Poultry — We quote turkeys, 10s; geese 6s; ducks, 3s 6d ; fowls, 3s to 3s 3d per pair. Fruit—Large consignments have been cleared during the week Fiji bananas, in good condition, ruled from 6s to 8a per bunch ; cocoanuts, 8s per sack ; Sydney oranges were in demand at 8s to 12s 6d; lemons .from 20s to 255; mandarins, lls to 13s per case; Hobart pears from 5s to 13s; apples, 4s to 12s 6d; quinces, lid per lb ; local fruits sold at low prices.
