Kiwitea Road Board

A special meeting of this board was held on Saturday. Present — Messrs Williamson (chairman), Tyreman and ; Bruce. [i ,' A letter was read from the chairman . stating his inability to be present. ' ; A'^letter was read from the. Sur-?••.yej^-.General stating that a sum of £28© was available for metalling abQut 100 chains from the end of the Kiwitea Block in the Waitapu Block, asking that the Kiwitea Road Board should undertake the work. Resolved, That the work be undertaken, but that the Government be informed that there will still be a portion of unmetalled road between the Waitapu Block and the present metal which the Baord will not be in a position to complete, and suggesting that, if possible, that portion be completed in the present contract. The following tenders were accepted: MaKay's road — formation, J. Aitken ; metalling, H. Hickford. Cheltenham road — formation, T. Smith. Metalling Kimbolton road, McDermott. The Board then adjourned.
