The Times this morning, referring to the forthcoming Budget, states that the army estimates only to provide for the maintenance of 8,000 British troops in Egypt. ; ' J> -London*, March 6. Mr Henry Labouchere, member for Northampton, brought forward a motion haviug for its object abolition of the hereditary . in the House of Lords. Mr Gladstone, speaking on the subject stated that Her Majesty's Government rec«tnised the necessity tor reform in the Upper House. It is announced thai* Her Majesty the Queen has been pleased to create Lord Hichard Grosvenor and Baren Kensington Peers of the United Kingdom. ' A Model of the statue of Her Majesty the Queen, by Joseph E. Boehm. K.A., who was commissioned to make it by the Government of New South Wales for their National Art Gallery, has been subI mitted to Sir Saul Samuel and Lord i Koseburj, who hare expressed their approval of it. The long pending libel action, Bryce v. Rasdcn, has been commenced.
