March 5 Complete returns of 26 eUc' orates are to hand, so far 22 supporters of the Coalition Ministry hare been returned, including Mr Walker, Commissioner of Customs, Mr Pearson, Minister of Edu cution, Mr |Niwmo, Minister of Public Words, and AJ r Davis, who has a seat in the Ministry without portfolio. The following are among the prominent and Bosisto 13 opposition member* have been elected, including Messrs Bent, Gooldsraith, Munro, Mnclnfcyre, A. J. Clark, and Goldsmith. 8 members have been returned as independent. Mr J Mirnnrj was rejected by the C illingwood electors, and Sir C. MacMahon returned. Adklaidk, March 3. Crooks, the late manager of the Commercial Bnuk in South Australia, has addressed a letter to the chairman of the board of directors to that instituation. In his letter, Crooks confesses that he obtained sums of money by over.lr.ift without the knowledge of customers whose accounts were debited by him with the overdrafts. Ho further admits that lie had reduced overdrafts by transferring various auimnts from tho loan amounts without the knowledge of thi* directors. Melbourne, March o. The associated banks have revived to cash the notes of the Comim rcial Bank if uol'l belonging to the bank, no a- deposited in two bank* in Adelaide, is distributed among all the banks belonging to the association. Public feeling generally favours the resumption of business by the Commercial Bank.
