Sporting Notes
The Awahuri Eace Course presented . a lively appearance this morning at an early hour. No loss than six horses were on the gronnd. The &*t to strip were Patent Safety, iKautei^.^ and Lena. They were sent two miles at a stiff pace. Kautere is a nice looking little mare, by Barbarian, and appears in, . good condition, and ought to take a lot of catching at Turakina. ...■-•: Patent Safety seems to be a bit stale. The second time round the trio were joined by Touch-and-ga and raced home at top speed. - rr : Touch-and-go was then sent J. of ». mile in company with two hacks and went very strong and well. Ishall defer alluding to the Turakina and Wanganui meetings until next issue. . Sphbl.
