Cap — 8 to 1 Winchester, 10 to 1 each on Minerva, Sheet Anchor and Matchlock. Melbourne, February 25. The final payments for the Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Cup were made to-day. Thirty horses remain in the Handicap and twenty-four in the Cup. February 26. The Board of Inquiry appointed to in Testignte the circumstances attendant upon the recent mishap to the Waihora, completely exonerate the captain and officers of the ressel from blame. The board further recommends that a surrey be at once taken «f the place where the Waihora struck. Sydney, February 25. It is stated that Sir Patrick Jennings has succeeded in forming a Ministry from members ot his own party, without th« assistance of Sir John Robertion, but the particulars are not yet made public.
