Education Board

The usual monthly meeting of tibio . above was held on Tuesday last. Present — Messrs Sanson (chairman); Baker, Bate, Bridge, Stevens, and Fry. , .;. Foxtow. — The report of the executive committee on the Foxton school was read, and it was moved by Mr Sanson, seconded by Mr Bow, That, the repairs to the Foxton school and grounds, as recommended by the executive committee, be effected.— . Carried. \ Feildhv a. — [Requisites for the infant room were asked for, and attention called to defective ventilation :— M* ;i Bate pointed out that the returns showed that there were 277 on the „,. roll, while the average was only 1901 He did not think this very satisfactory. — Inspector Bindon stated he , 7 had reported on the ventilation in ,: the Infant room as being bad, but he could not speak as to the other portion. — Left to the Inspector to report o n - ; ;,'■ Half-time Schools. — On the motion of Mr Fry, it was resolved, That a teacher instructing two half-time schools be paid at the same rate as if in ... charge of full-time school. Annual Report.— The chairman's annual report and balance-sheet were read and laid upon the table respec- * tively by the secretary. On the motion of Mr Baker, seconded by Mr Stevens, the report was adopted.- — Mr Stevens said the report set forth very happily the harmonious relations subsisting between the board and the committees. With the exception of two or three committees, there was very general accord. In fact he knew . of no educational district in which better feeling prevailed. Inspector's !»eport. — Theconsideration of the inspector's report was held over until next meeting. <
