$V [PBE U2IITBD FBBSfI-igSOQIJM'IOir.j * . Christchurch, December 21. : The mystery attaching to the dead ■ hand, upon which was a ring identified as Mr Howard's is becoming more complex. As was formerly stated, the hand was found by Misha Godfrey. This man who is a storekeeper, was, together with his brother Frederick Godfrey, a cook employed at the Sunny side Lunatic Asylum, arrested this, afternoon, under a charge of conspiring to defraud the Govern-, xnent Insurance Department of £1000, the Mutual Life Assurance at Austral--asia of £1000, and the Accident Insurance Company of £400. Inspector. Pander said it had been agreed between the parties interested to adjourn the inquiry for two weeks.
