(BEUTEB's TEIEGBAMB.) Melbourne, December 17. Sir John Robertson has been sent for by the Governor to undertake the forming of a Ministry. Tne Assembly has consequently been adjourned until Tuesday next, the 22nd inst. The Assembly has agreed to the Bill for a £3000 grant to the widow of the late J. M. Grant, but lias rejected a grant to the family of the late Mr Hugh M'Coll. The Loan Bill and the Factories and Shop Bill hare passed. A child, 13 years of ace, has been run orer and killed by a cable tramcar. December 18. The formal prorogation of Parliament takes place to-day. The Assembly have not dealt with the Tasmanian Reciprocal Treaty, and the measure has in comeqaence been Bhelred until the next session. The Victorian shipowners hare formed a combination in order to resist the demands made by the wharf labourers for a large increase of their wages. Sydney, December 17. Public holidays for Christmas are likely t« be proclaimed from Tuesday the 22ud to the following Tuesday. Good rain has fallen during the last few hoars.
