T.YTUkinson, tiovernnent agent at Alexandra :— " Had a merting with Mr John Ormsby yesterday. The following are the arrangements we propose to oarry put, and he started this morning to lay them before Taonni and others at Otoro^gaha and T» Kaiti, and to get the names of the natives and half-castes who will aertmfeay the European prospectors :— We propose to send out, if possible, fi^e parties, each to consist of not mere than two Eumpeajis, and where practicable only one. ■ «• party will take the Waipa Valley and the eastern side, and work in towards Bangi* toto. Another wiU|ctart from Tamssarm. nui (Ngatai's place) Tipper Wanganni, and work into Tuhoa. Five parties in all will be sent out. By this action I think the whole comntry will be fairly tested.
