ISLAND BAY (WELLINGTON) RACES./ __ ( V, [PKB UNITED PBBSS ASSOCITTWK.] Wellington, November 30. The St. Andrew's Day meeting of the Island Bay Racing dub was held on the Island Bay course to-day. About 1500 people were present. A young jockey named Buckeridge, who rode Marquis in the Te Aro Handicap, had his right kneecap broken by a kick from Administrator just before the start. He rode the; race in his crippled condition, and on returning to the paddock the injury was found so serious that the medical attendant fears he will have to amputate the leg. The following are the results :— , Hurdle Handicap — Maccarom 1, Erebus 2, The Druid 3. - i Flying Stakes— Capsize 1, Revoke 2, Rumour 31 ■" • Te Aro Handicap— Administrator 1, Clogs 2, Nelspn'3. .. Grand Stand Handicap — Capsize 1, Nelson 2, Sumour 3.
