Cr Nicholas proposed and Cr Wore- ; fold seconded, That the Engineer b* . instructed to put in a new culvert in the Makino road.— Carried. Cr Eade brought before the Council the case of Mrs Archer, who was in very destitute circumstances. . Cr Thompson said it was usual for parties to bring forward such cases themselves in writing.
