The following acceptances for the Melbourne Cup were announced tonight: — Acolyte, Arsenal, Bosworth, Blink Bonny, Britisher, Brown and Bose, Cerise and Blue, Cariolanus, Courtier, Cyclops, Despot, Dunlop, First Chester, Grace Darling, Hilltop, Honeydew, . Impulse, Kit Nubbles, Lesbia, Liverpool, Lord Exeter, Lord Wilton, Metal, Minerva, Nordenfeldt, Oudeis, Palarenda, Plausible, Prime Minister, Prometheus, Remus, Sheet ' Anchor, St. John, St. Lawrence, Stornoway, Thunderbolt, Tom Brown, \. Trenton, TJralla, Velocipede, Warwick, Winchester, Wing, Yellow Hammer ; total, 44 horses. October 28. The following are the latest betting quotations : — Derby— Nordenfeldt 2 to 1, Isonomy and Thunderbolt 6to 1, TJralla and First Chester Bto 1. Cup —Trenton and Despot 100 to 8, Kit Nubbles, Sheet Anchor, and Liverpool 100 to 7, Acolyte 100 to 6, and Prometheus 100 to 5. At the training this morning Cyclops did a great performance, doing two miles in 3m. 42aec. Thunderbolt and Winchester did a serviceable gallop of a mile and a half. Trenton went once round in splendid style, going strong, and finishing well, the last being done in lm. 50sec. Courier and Palarenda have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup. 1 The favorite double is Nordenfeldt for the Derby and Trenton for the Cup. The Age this morning states that it l* highly probable the Hon. James White will start Nordenfeldt for the Derby. Received October 29, 1*15 p.m. Melboubnb, October 28. The following is the lattest betting quotations on the Cup:— Despot 100 to 7, Sheet Anchor 100 to 5.
