Melbourne Wool Sales
[BEITTBBS' TKLEOHAMS.I Mklboubnb, Oct. 22. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their second " wool sale this season this afternoon. The attendance of buyers was large. Among those present 'were, noticed, ;} v several new arrivals from Europe and' «. j| America. A fairly representative catalogue of 1.750 bales was submitted, and elicited spirited biddings throughout. Gross-bred merino and lambs' wool were in especially good demand. The prices obtained for the ~ various lots offered' were considered ' very satisfactory, taking into account the low prices, ruling in London. Greasy merino sold up to Is lOd per lb, which was the price obtained for-a* ' small lot of Tasmanian stud; forty* bales' from Urana realized la 9f d per>:: lb; lambs', same price. No scoured or washed of importance offered. ' •. •• <?
