Wellington, October 13. George Thomas and Co. report : — The market during the past week has shown special activity in variuus leading staple products. A brisk trade is being carried on in potatoes (old samples), which rule from L 3 15s to L4. The new crop which is now coining slowly to hand, moves off readily at 2d per Ib. The The market is plentifully supplied with hams and bacon at usual rates. Prime cheese is scarce nt 61b per lb. Fresh butter is very plentiful this week ; prime parcels move off freely at lOd ; salt (newly potted), lOd. E«gs are steady at 10 to l()£d. The supply «f fruit is somewhat limited, and prices are not worth comment; full shipments are shortly expected. Fowls, 4s 6d, scarce ; turkeys, 10s to 11s $ and ducks, 5 s per pair-
