Small Farm Association
A meeting of the above was held at Mr Bray's office last night. The usual formal business was done, after which the plans of the proposed settlement, which had been most carefully prepared by Mr Mountfort, the surveyor, were submitted. It was decided that in order "to make the block complete by securing as large an area of the splendid land as was available, to take in a few more members. To that end advertisements were to be forwarded to the Post, Advocate, and Stab, intimating that a few more members would be admitted. "When the roads, now laid off, are completed, this settlement will be within about twelve miles of a railway station, and about five miles from the lead of the Pohangina reefs. The Palmerston and Wanganui settlements are immediately adjoining, so that an active and numerous population will surround it on every side. Young men, from England in search of a fortune will find it lying at their feet here.
