Intelligence ii to hand from Albania that the inhabitants of the Miredita district (southward of the IbaUa Mountains) hare suen in rebellion and seized the Turkish con Toy. It is also reported that the Gorernmeat of Bulgaria and Serria are pushing on their respective armaments with unabated rigour. The Russian troops are masting in Bessarabia, a province »f South Russia between the Pruth and the Dniester. The Turks are sending large rein, forcements to Adrianople and Salonica. Serria is enrolling soldiers. October 1. Sir Michael Hicks-Beach addressed a public saeeting at Salisbury last night. In the course of his speech he stated that Her Majesty's Government would endeavour t* act in concert with the Great Powers in orJer to bring ab*ut an equitable and peaceful settlement of the Roumelian difficulty.
