Destructive Clyclone at Calcutta
COLONIAL INSUBANOE COMPANIES LOSE HEAVILY. [»» CXITED PBKSS ASSOCUTIOX.J ArcKhaxD, Thii Dsy. Private telegrams received here from India, announce that there has Jbeen a most serious oyclone at Caloutta, and many vessels drifted ashore and were wrecked. The New Zealand Insurance Company has sustained a loss of £500. The South British is believed to he involved, but to what extent it is not known. The South British received a cable from Bombay stating that seven vessels were wrecked at False Point, Calcutta, where risks were taken, have received no details as to the losses.
