New Railway Fares and Charges
[per united press association.] VfELUVQTOH. October I. A new scale of fares, rates, and charges, on the New Zealand railways, to come into fore* on 12th Ootober is gazetted. This Day. The principal changes whioh appear in tke new scale of charges gaaetted last night are that daily return tickets, are to be issued for suburban traffic, and on some of the lines a reduction has been made on the charges for merchandise. A new feature in the passenger fares is the introduction of market tickets. These tickets will be issued to all passengers for a town in which there is a weekly market, on the same terms as Saturday return tickets.
