Borough Elections
Thb candidates nominated to-day for the three vacancies in the Borough Council, were Messrs Thomas Evans, Samuel Goodbkhkrk, Pbteb Thomson and Hxnby Wobsfold. The three latter burgesses have already served in the Council and their merits or demerits are tolerably well known to the electors. Mr Thomas Evans is,
as he says in the address which he publishes to-day, an untried man in public life, but we are satisfied that if he is elected he will do his duty without fear or favor. He is one of the oldest settlers in Feilding, and has the character of possessing many sterling qualities. We are quite certain that if he is returned he will be an acquisition to the Council. He has the courage of his opinions and lays them frankly before the electors in a manly and straight forward manner.
