Fire Insurance

A meeting of persons interested in obtaining a reduction of the insurance rates which are now charged in the Manawatu and Oroua Counties is called for to-morrow. It will be held in Mr Bray's office at three o'clock in tho afternoon, a most convenient hour and one specially arranged to suit the circumstances of the business people of the Borough. We understand that those insurers who have already pledged themselves to support a new company, wkich will undertake to insure at Uw rates, are expected to attend, in order that the proposition which has been submitted to Palmerston insurers by the Manchester Assurance Company may be laid before them. All policy holders who have not yet given in their names should not neglect this opportunity for so doing We hope that the meeting will cordially endorse whatever action has been taken by Palmerston, because unity, in this as in other matters, is the only way to ensure success.
