The results ef the principal events wero as follow: — Hurdle Race, two miles. — Confidence, 1; Belle Brandon, 2; Stu. dent, 3. Tramway Handicap, threequarters of a mile. -Farewell, 1 ; Prodigal, 2: Wand, 3. Tattersall's Two Year Stakes, half-a-mile. — For this event, twenty-eight horses started. Haleyo* won by tw« lengths, Lenorita being second. Time, 60s. Loftus Handicap, a mile and a-quarter. — Cemot, 1 ; Happy Theught, 2; Folly, 3. Received Sepeember 1, 1*15 p.m. Stdnby. This Day. The Government has appointed eight new members to the Legislative Council. Parliament will re-assemble for the despatch of business on the Bth. Hobabt, This Day* The trial of two men O'Keefe and Bice for complicity in the Beaeonsfield bank robbery last year was concluded yesterday, when both prisoners were acquitted.
