Messrs Carson, Laird, Manson, and Bell, were yesterday served with writs issued at the instance of 0. ALlaffiton for having performed work for the Borough Council while sitting and voting as members thereoff. Some of these gentlemen are charged with aa many as the offences, and it is estimated that the fines will amount to £2,400 in the aggregate.

A summons for £100 was to>day taken out by H. Graff against W. Park, Borough Councillor, for having supplied stationery to the Council «n two occasions. Case* will be heard on Thursday next. Public indignation., is considerably aroused against Graff, who is a resident •f Feilding. . ■ : .
