Beceived August 4, 1 a.m. Melbourne, August 3 The trial by Court Martial of the insubordinate members of the Victorian permanent artillery force is still proceeding.
The Melbourne Omnibus Company Company has declined to accede to the demand of the drivers for a reduction of the working time to eight hours per day and the men have accordingly decided to remain out on strike.
Ihe following horses are scratched for the Melbourne Cup ia addition to those already notified: — Anchorite, Boadicea Capri, Cincinnatus, Conjecture, Dirk Hatteraick, El wood, Faro, Fernside, Free Trade, Gardiner. Hasting!*, Moonshee, Quality, Bufus, Silver King, The Teacher, and Teno.
