Horticultural Society

A meeting of the committee of the Manchester Horticultural and Pastoral Society was held at Mr Bray's office on Tuesday evening for the purpose of receiving the report of the sub-committee re the matter of division of classes. There was a good attendance. The president of the society, Mr Lethbridge, presided. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The sub-committee recommended that for pot plants there be two classes one for cottagers, and the other for all comers. The name of Mr Gosling, senr., was added to the general committee, and he and Messrs Towler and Evans were appointed a committee to canvass for special prizes. A committee was also appointed to draw up a schedule for the next show, which it was resolved to hold on the first Wednesday in December as usual.

This being all the business the committee: adjourned.
