Mr Foulia, head school teaoher of the Central School, who was thrown from his hone yesterday afternoon, and severely injured by being kicked about the head and faco by his horse, is still insen* sible and in a precarious condition. WxliUvotm. July 2. Benjamin Thatcher, a boarding-house keeper at the railway works at Pukeau on the Wellington-Maaawatu railway line, was fined £20 and costs for sly grog, selling. A large barn, the property of Mr J. Barton, at Trentham, containing hay, straw, farm implements, wool press, oats, etc., was discovered to be on fire last night. The damage to the building, a portion of whioh was saved, is about £300. The insurance on the contents is not yet known. The fire is supposed to have been caused by tramps sleeping on the premise*. In the divorce Court the case of Steffert v. Steffert and Grant a. petition by Jleinrich Christian Bteffert for a disolution of his marriage with Elizabeth StefFert. new of Auckland, on the ground of krr adultery with Alexander Grant; now of New Plymouth, was heard.
