The Insurance Local Boards
(PBB UNITED PBKBB ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Jane 28. The result of the polling on the subject of Local Boards was declared by the chairman, Sir Julius Yogel, on Saturday afternoon at the Drillshed. The following are respectively the numbers for and against them. In favor of boards, 940 ; against them 4363 — majority against, 3423. Votes of thanks to the officers of the Department and the usual compliment to the chair closed the proceedings. June 29. In connection with the polling for the local boards of the Government Insurance Association, the following shows the result of the various districts — Auckland, 3to 1 against ; Duuedin, 3£ to 1 against ; Christchurch, 6to 1 against; Wellington, 17 to 1 against; Southland, 20 to 1 against.
