There is probably no art of industry which requires — for the prodaction of good work— greater care aod atteution to details than does the art of photography. The public are little aware ef the numerous appliances and processes used in a first-class photographic establishment. A visit to Mr Martin's studio at Wanganui will prove this to be so, for it is here we find numerous rooms, each having its own departmental work and a staff of assistants to carry on that work. We also find electricity is employed in producing the beautiful stippled effect for which Mr Martin's work is so much admired. But the most interesting and, we must say, to our mind, the most complicated process is that of enamelling ; the marvellous beauty imparted to the photograph by this process is truly astonishing, and we are assured by Mr Martin that the enamelling not only produces this beautiful appearance, but renders the picture permanent by means of lis airtight and damp-proof coating. A visit to Wanganui, if for nothing else than to be photographed at Mr Martin's, would be a highly satisfactory way of spending a day. — [Advt.] "Rough on Rats," clears out rats, mice, bettles, roaches, bed-bugs, flies, ants, insects, skunks, moles, jack-rabbits, gophers.
