Lpee united press association. Wangandi, June 10. An inquest was held to-day on the body of wrs Adamson, of Hawera. The evidence showed that she had been suffering from mental derangement, and had threatened to *'do away with herself." A verdict was returned that deceased committed suicide by jumping into the Wanganui Kirer on Monday night while temporarily insane. The evidence of the railway guard showed that she had intended going home to Hawera that night, but got into the wrong train and had to come back to Wangunui. A license for a new house near the railway station has been refused by the Licensing Committee. Wellington, June 10. In the Banco Court to-day Judge Richmond refused the application for a new trial in the divore'e case Smith' t. Smith and Strike. The p»lice are searching for the miss* ing men, F. Liardet and J. S. Harris, who were shooting game on the Wairarapa Lake. Nothing lias been heard of them since the 25th ultimo. It is feared they may hare been drowned in crossing the lake.
