Mr Brace's Lecture
The lecture which will be delivered in the Public Hall this evening, under the auspices of the Feilding Benevoltn 1 Society, and for its benefit, bj Mr Bruce the member for Rangitikei, promiies fair to be an intellectual treat to those who attend. The subject chosen by the lecturer for his discourse is " America," a land where Mr Bruce dwelt for maay years, and with whose people, from the President to the deek hand of a river ■team boat, ho had many opportunities of familiar intercourse. His powers of observation assisted by a remarkably retentive memory have enabled the lecturer to garner up a rich store of enter* •sting facts and experiences which will prove both instructive and amusing. Mr Bruce is gifted with a most musical voice, which, assisted by a natural and unstudied grace of diction, makes him a most charming speaker. It is stated that in the House of Parliament this rare combination of excellent qualities as a speaker compels the delighted attention of that most critical audience. We hope that Mr Brace will be met by a crowded house. One thing we can assure him, and that is "a Highland Welcome."
