Ourselves
To-day, and on every Saturday for the future, the Feildixg Star will be published at two o'clock in the afternoon. This alteration has been made necessary by a recent decision of the R.M. at Palmerston, which has made applicable to printers' apprentices the Employment of Females and Others Act, 1881, which gives a half holiday to all young persons employed in any manufactory, workshop, workroom, or other establishment, or place of business where any female, child, or young pereon shall be employed. " Child " means a boy or girl between the ages of twelve and fourteen years. ' • Young person " means a boy or girl between the ages of fourteen and eighteen years. "We have made such arrangements with the agents of the Press Association and Reuteu's agent, that the latest telegraphic news will be received and published up to the hour of going to press,, and any item of importance which arrives after that hour will be issued as an " Extra."
