I.FBB UNITED PBEBU ASSOCIATION. Wellington. February 20. There are now four cases of bloodpoisoning at the hospital, and another case suspected. The Gazette notifies the appointment of Messrs Henry Cornfoot, David Murray, and Thomas Thatcher as members of the Wanganui Harbour Board, the ratepayers of the borough having neglected to elect the full number. No further cases of blood poisoning have occurred at the hospital. Chbistchubcd", Februarv 20. A deplorable aceident happened in Cranmer Square, whereby a young man named Ed wurd Carter lost his life. He hired a horse from a livery stable. The nninial bolted with him. and he clung to the horse's neck, but was thrown off, and the horse fell on him in clearing a fence. When picked up he was nnconscions, and died in the hospital shortly after.
