The intercolonial cricket match, Victoria v. New South Wales, concluded to* day, and resulted in a victory for the Victorians by three wickets.
Immense interest was taken by sll classes in Sydney in the race between Clifford and Hanlan.
The stakes were psid to Hanlan on Monday night by the Mayor of Byd ney who handed him a cheque for £1000. Clifford was not present, but his backers stated that he acknowledged himself fatally beaten.
