ANOTHER MEETING.

A meeting of those persons who had signed their names to form a" Small Farm Association was held in Mr Bray's office last evening. ; There was a full attendance. Mr Gosling, sen., was voted to the chair. ,

Mr Hammond proposed, and Mr Svensden seconded, That the appointment of Mr Bray, 'jun., as secretary of the association be confirmed.— -Carried unanimously.

It was resolved, That a committee of twelve be appointed, with power to add, five to form a quorum. The following gentlemen were then elected as the committee: — Messrs Norman, Gichard, C. A. Mountfort, J. C. Thompson, BeUve, Jaekihan, G. W. Fowles, E. Goodbehere, Nix, Hammond, Gosling jun., and Hodges. Mr Mountfort was asked his opinion as to the cost of making an inspection of a block of land.

He said it would take a week for a surveyor and two/others to make an inspection, and he was prepared to give his services for a nominal consideration. A '

It was resolved, That each member of the association pay 2s 6d towards the preliminary expenses. It was also resolved,. That the secretary write to the Hon. J. Ballance, requesting 100 copies of the regulations dealing with the Small Farm Settlements, for the use of the members.

Mr C. A. Mountfort was appointed leader of the exploration parry, his assistants to be Messrs A. Mountfort, Hodges, and W. Reid. These were authorised to 'explore the Otamakapua or any other Government Block open for selection.

Mr C. A. Mountfort kindly offered to give his professional services free, and it was resolved that the. remuneration of each member of the exploration party be 10s per day. Mr Mountfort was. authorised to arrange for a vehicle, for conveying the party to and from the site.

It was resolved, That the Association be advertised in the Star and Advocate.

Mr C. Bray, the secretary, was appointed treasurer.

This being aU the business, the meeting terminated with the usual thanks to the chairman.

The committee afterwards met and added the names of Messrs Gosling, send-, and Reading to the number, and the former was appointed chairman of the committee. a
