Friday, February 6, 1885. (Before D. H. Macarthur, Esq./J.P.) POLICE OFFENCES ACT. , George Knowles, who wa% arrested on Thursday evening by Constable Meehani was brought up charged by that officer "with being found drunk in the streets of Feilding on the evening above named. The prisoner pleaded guilty. He was fined £1.. or in default 48 hours imprisonment. He was warned that if brought up again he would be liable to a heavy punishment. He wa s advised to reform, or he would run the risk of being described as an <- habitual drunkard," as it was well-known that he was frequently seen in a state of insobriety. Accused, who expressed his sorr6w-j and said he had no money, was given till 6 p.m. to pay the fine, and was then liberated. j
