War in the Soudan
I GALLANTRY OF BRITISH HUSSARS. (bettteb's telegbams.) Received January 5, 11 a.m. • Cairo, February 3. A force consisting of eighty British Hussars and some Egyptian troops which ! were despatched hence to Handoub to burn it down had effected that purpose and was retnrning to Snakim, when it was surrounded by a large body of rebels. Heavy fighting ensued but the Hussars and Egyptians succed in effecting their escape with a loss of eight men killed, fire of whom were Hussars.
