[fbb united press association. Woodville, This Day. Birss' SBrated water manufactory was burned down this morning, the fire having originated from a fire-place. Birss has lost everything. Insurances — £150 on the plant, and £40 on the building in South British. The loss is £160 over these amounts. Auckland, This Day. Governor De Voeux and family proceed to Dunedin and contemplate leaving for England in Maroh, returning to Fiji at the end of the year. Mr Buckland received a vote of confidence at Otahuhu yesterday.

Uunedin, This Day. The fancy goods shop in George street, occupied by Mesdames Tonant and Pepper JI, was destroyed by fire this morning. S\n Pepperill's stock was insured for £200 in the Norwich, and Mrs Tonant for £300. Mrs Pepperill and daughter, who slept over the shop, were rescued by the fire brigade. Tiie fire was occasioned by a defective chimney.
