Mr Ormond has given £20,000 to found a college of music here, and to endow three scholarships. •bThe Argus to-day, in|an articlejrefernng to Vogel's connection with the Telephone Construction Company (sic), without considering charges proved, declares that the reputation of New Zealand and the other colonies demands that Yogel should resign his Ministerial ofiice and proceed to London to refute the accusations. The statement made by the Albnry correspondent of the Argus, that by the Cootamundra railway accident thirty persons were unaccounted for, has been authoritatively disproved. Stdnet, Jan. 28. At the sale of racing stock to-day five yearlings realised 1,630 guineas. The price was given for Onyx colt,|6oß guineas, Sylvia colt was not sold.
