Hop Market
. • The Australasian reports as follows on the hop maket:— A better demand is experienced for hops, and besides other sales 16 eases Bavarian have been placed at current rates, and 20 bales Victorian at a full price ; some large transactions are also reported as pending ; our London correspondent thus reports regarding the home market : — " Messrs W. H. and H. LeMaj state that there is now a general demand for all descriptions. Many of the large buyers, who had not been in the market before are now operating. Mid and East Kent growths are going off at late rates. The total imports of foreign hops into Ent^land from October 1, 1884, to October 25, 1834. were 10,000 bales. The following are the current rates for 1884's :— East Kent's £6 10s to £11 pur civt; -Viid Rents, £6 6s to £10; Australians, 1884, £4 10s, to £5 10s ; American £7 to £8 ; Australian, 1883, £3 10s to £4 10s."
