OUB BEADING BOOM.
TO THE EDITOE OF THF- STAB. Sib,— Your excellent paper is always anxious to advocate anything tending Ut the improvement of the Borough or its institutions. May I hope that a feir suggestions in connection with the Reading Room will be favorably received by those interested. Why should not the Sending Eoom be open on Sunday P Why close it on the one day in the week it could be most largely availed of P Any expenses consequent on keeping it open could be more than met by discontinuing papers which are wholly unused, notably tlie Lancet, and Land and Water, Again why not sell the papers and peri-^^ odicalsP File any what are thought^^ necessary, but by all means sell the rest. Another item, and I submit a serious one, is the non-ventilation of the room. Is the establishment of a ladies Beading Boom practical? It would do good* Commending these remarks to the consideration of our Councillors,— l am, &c. Trass. Feilding, December 9, 1884. ••■■' ■■■ ■ v
