The following cable message was received yesterday by the Government from MrDailey, Acting Colonial Secretary of New South Wales : — Small pox is at pri'sent confined to one district ofthe city.There are no known cases at large, but 14 in the small pox hospital in strict quarantine, four being confluent, four semiconfluent, three discrete, and three convalescent. A strict house to house investigation bas been instituted in the affected locality by a medical adviser.
