Per Merchant Shipping and Underwriters Association, London November 12 --The ship Deva arrived in the British Channel fiom Timaru, July 17th, and reported having been in collision wilh a quantity of ice in the South Pceifie. Considerable damage was sustained by vessel, and fortyrfive tons of cargo jettisoned. Admiral Tryon was entertained at a banquet by Sir Saul Samuel, AgentGeneral for Now South Wales. Amongst those present were the Agents-General for the various colonies and Major-Gen-eral Scratchley. The Koloniale Bank of Amsterdam has suspended payment. The cholera epidemic shows no signs of of abatement in Paris, and the malady has reappeared in Toulon. The fourth series of the year's wool sales opened to-day, thero being a good attendance of buyers present. Messrs Charies Balme and Co and Jacomb aud Co's catalogue comprised 7,300 bales. The prices maintained tho average obtained at the close of the last sales, cross-breds being rather firmer. The number of bale* available is 143.000 and 40,000 bales of the- new season's clip. November 13. Tho cataloguo at to-day's wool auction comprised 11,500 bales. Good competition was again experienced. In the House of Lords yesterday, in reply to a question, Karl Northbrook. First Lord of the Admirality, stated that he would on Tuesday next announce the plans which it was proposed to adopt with a view of increasing the strength aud efficiency of the Imperial Navy. Pabis, November 13. 'lhe mortality from cholera continues to increase, ani tho number of deaths from the disease yesterday amounted to 107. There are now also 271 patients in the hospitals suffering from the epidemic iv a malignant form. Later. Eight-ono deaths from cholera occurred yesterday. Received Novembor 15, 0.55 a.m. London, November 14. In tho House of Commons yesterday the credit votes asked by the Government on account of tho army and navy and for military operations in Egypt and South Africa were passed. Caiho, November 13. A telegram has beon received from Vludir at Dongola stating that a force of 12,000 of iVlahdis troops, under his fighting chief, is now marching uponDougola.
